NAIROBI CHAPEL’S CORE VALUES
If you have been attending Nairobi Chapel for some time, chances are that you have become aware of what we value most as a church. It would be hard to miss the vibrant worship, weekly prayer item. high impact sermons, mission trips, social justice initiatives, Pug-In eGroups, and so many more elements that come under our mission statement:” Growing D.E.E.P to reach W.l.D.E”
In defining who we are as a church family, it was important to carefully summarize the principles that make up our DNA as Nairobi Chapel. These
principles comprise our 6 Core Values
GROW TOGETHER
Discipleship is how Jesus grew his team and this is of utmost importance to us as a church In order to successfully implement this, we introduced our Transformation Track in 2009, a clear guide through the process of discipleship at Nairobi Chapel. This way. we work towards growing our members to be more like Christ and live out their faith in a powerful and practical way.
MULTIPLY AT EVERY LEVEL
At the individual level, we are intentional about multiplying leaders, staff and disciples. Each year, we enroll interns into the Kinara Leadership Development Program. We equip these aspiring ministers with theological pastoral and hands-on ministry experience. Some of the leading pastors and trendsetters in the nation and beyond are alumni of our Kinara Program. At the ministry level we seek to reproduce all of our ministries regularly Putting Plug-in into practice has incorporated several volunteers at almost every level of the church’s functions. At the church level we have began planting churches locally and internationally. We take in church planters, train and send them out to establish church plant. What’s more, we encourage them to train prospective church planters to ensure continuity so that the gospel is shared far and wide. Within Nairobi, church plants bear the name Nairobi Chapel plus the area it is planted Beyond Nairobi, the church plants are known as Trinity Chapel
EMPOWER THE NEXT GENERATION
God has called us to not only reach the next generation, but to also empower then, to change their world. Today’s children and youth are tomorrow’s leaders and the future of the Church. Investing in them is investing in the future of the Church. Thus, we intentionally do whatever them for the kingdom service. Through creative sermons and fun-filed activities at XP (our Youth Church)
and Quest (our Children’s Ministry, our children do not just accept Christ into their hearts, but also lean practical ways to be more like Him.
RELEASE RESOURCES INTO THE COMMUNITY
We are called to be a “city on a hill”– a place of hope and refuge – and a “lamp that sheds light abroad” Accordingly. we look beyond our walls to serve people outside the church especially the poor and the forgotten – “the least of these”. We resolved to continuously serve our community with compassion love and understanding Through our Social centre provides a sate and dignified place every Sunday after service for people to meet with a counselor and get assistance. We also host a support group where those we assist meet once a week for Bible study. income generating initiatives, micro-financing and mentoring. Congregation members with a heart lor Social impact are encouraged to set up Frontline engagements where we Nairobi chapel offer support to help them get established by providing training.
networks and accountability. Some of our Frontliners include Beacon of Hope. Tumaini Clinics, Uzima Trust Fund. Tumaini Kwa Watoto and Seed of Hope
Our Jubilee Scholarship Fund seeks to sponsor bright but needy students from less privileged backgrounds We have over 500 students who have gone through the scholarship program so far.
Thanks to the faithful contributions from our congregation along with various fund raising events such as the Jubilee Golf Tournaments and the Jubilee Ride, we have enabled these students complete their schooling.
KEEP PRAYER AT THE CORE
Everything we do encompasses prayer and dependence on God The best planning and strategy can only go so far if not ordained and guided by God. We are committed to apply daily what the bible says in Psalm
127:1 “unless the Lond builds the house, its builders labor in vain “. As a church we encourage personal prayer through daily devotion time. Corporately, we are blessed with a committed team serving in our Prayer
Ministry who uphold the Church and Nation in prayer, daily
1 We hold prayers every Tuesday at our Green House Church offices from 6:00pm -8:00pm.
2 Every fourth Saturday of the month, we come together as a Church and hold a prayer service that
begins at 630am – 8:00am
On the last Sunday of every month, we change our regular services and focus of prayer, During the service, the congregation is directed in praying for the church, nation and our day to day lives. We also come together as a congregation for 21 days of prayer and fasting at least once’s a year. God has been faithful in answering our prayers. He has been our Ebenezer”- this far He has brought us. We look forward to the amazing things He has in
store for Chapel as we continue to place our trust in Him.
